Random Book Finds- Paul Neilan

I had a really good time reading Apathy and Other Small Victories. Unfortunately it's Paul Neilan's only published book to date, but I look forward to seeing more of his stuff. I can only hope that he is working on something else. His blog, not recently updated, seems to indicate that he's been poor- which I find curious. Everyone who likes good contemporary literature, should be reading this. So- check it out. I don't know the guy, but I know that by the very merit of having penned this hilarious mystery--he is to be respected and deserves your money.

I don't remember how I came across this- whether I was playing somewhere online, like Amazon, or the library site, or if I stumbled on it quite "accidentally" in one of my random snatchings from shelves--what gave this column its name.

So, in this book, a guy with an interesting fetish for stolen salt shakers- ends up in big trouble as a suspect. Getting all wound up in other people's issues. I won't ruin it by saying any more.

I suggest you click the link above to review the first pages and, if your taste in literature--and I use the term rather loosely, lest the Gods of classic writing be angered--is anything like mine, than you will love what you see, and, most likely, have to devour the entire book at once!
